Ashinano sensei brings another beautiful work full of a strange combination of future nostalgia. His stories in Kotonoba
Drive are mysterious glimpses of how other worlds/experiences slip into our daily lives. The story introduces Su-chan, who occasionally is visited by short lives para-normal experiences. Quiet and reflective, not scary. The stories are short, since Ashinano-sensei does not use assistants to produce his work, but mange to beautifully pack in these gorgeous experiences in a short chapter. The art is beautiful as usual. However, I find the world, story and characters of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou to be better realized as whole. Hovever, this work stands on its own, and ladles on more mystery than his previous works. Hoping for a new series from Ashinano sensei!
